I've coached more than 200 women over the last eight years, after a decade competing in heptathlon at national level. Most of them started exactly where you are now.

You've tried being good. It never lasted.

None of that is a willpower problem. It's a plan problem, and plans can be fixed.

Four ways to start

Pick the one that fits where you are today. You can always move up.

Hi, I'm Nell

For ten years my whole life was heptathlon. Seven events, twelve sessions a week, and a body I treated like a machine. When I stopped competing I did what most people do: I trained less, ate "better", and felt worse.

What pulled me out wasn't more discipline. It was lifting heavy things three times a week and eating like someone who trains. That's what I've taught ever since, mostly to women who were told strength training wasn't for them.

I'm based in Manchester and coach online, so where you live doesn't matter. How busy you are doesn't either. That part is my job.

Questions I get a lot

I've never lifted weights. Is this for me?

Yes. About half my clients start as complete beginners. Every exercise comes with a video, and you send me clips of your lifts so I can correct your form from week one.

Do I need a gym?

No. A pair of adjustable dumbbells and a bench is enough for the first six months. If you do have a gym, we'll use it.

Will I have to follow a diet?

No meal plans and no banned foods. We set a protein target, build a few default meals you like, and leave the rest of your life alone.

What if I travel or miss a week?

Then we adjust. The Sunday check-in exists for exactly that, and the plan is rewritten around your week rather than the other way round.

Why is there an application?

I keep a small number of clients so everyone gets real attention. The four questions tell me if I'm the right coach for you, and they save us both a week of messages.

Can I cancel?

After the first three months you can stop any time with 14 days' notice. No contracts beyond that.

Question 1 of 4

What's your main goal right now?

Tap the closest one.

Question 2 of 4

Where will you train?

Anything works. I just need to know what to write for.

Question 3 of 4

When do you want to start?

Be honest. There's no wrong answer.

Question 4 of 4

Coaching is £189 a month. Does that work for you?

Three-month minimum. If it's not right today, I'll point you to something that is.

Last step

Where can I reach you?

I read every application myself.

You, you're in. Pick a time for our call.

Application sent. The call is 20 minutes on video, free, and you'll get a confirmation email with the link.

Thanks, you. Here's where I'd start instead.

Application sent. 1:1 isn't the right fit today and that's completely fine. Strong in 12 gives you the same training structure for a one-off £39, and I'll keep your details for when the timing changes.
